  teachers feedback: Timing for establishing / opening shots could be longer. Timing a crucial part of setting the tone for your scene. Drag it out a bit, it will match with the music better, too Would you potentially keep the crickets / background noise over all the beginning shots? Maybe another sound underneath it too, a single note being held to point to something coming? Sound level for talking bits – turn voice up a bit, it’s a bit soft compared to the music Sound – maybe a very low stringed instrument to accompany the POV of the stalker outside, when we see through the windows as ‘him’, a change in tone would be good to intensify what we see Again when we actually see him, a sound effect to amplify the threat would be good I would make the lights turning off a bigger deal – again, maybe some sort of sound effect there that goes with the symbolism of her stepping into darkness / foreshadowing the darkness that is about to enter her house etc Music could be added earlier with ...

 

  At my house I experimented with the different lighting I could achieve just using the lights we have. These first few shots are of the kitchen and show two different lighting schemes. I prefer the first two to the last.  this is the look we are going for These photos show the entryway the husband will walk through. Once again I want that low lit look; it may be even darker due to the fact the wife may have turned the lights off by now. We'll have to keep this in mind so we can keep continuity throughout the shots. Once again I definitely prefer the darkest look but it's good to have options as we have to keep in mind that we still want to see our actor's faces. by niav

  Preliminary Task 2 – Treatment   Niav Rice   AS Media Studies     A TREATMENT FOR AT BAY   SNN FILMS – NIAV'S TREATMENT   6/O4/2022     It is proposed that the film will be of 1.30 to 2.00 minutes in duration, and that it will be filmed at Niav’s house as it fits the warm and welcoming yet eerie feeling we are trying to accomplish . This film is a home invasion film and therefore requires a home that seems safe but also causes an uneasy feeling once inside. This location is also suitable as I know where everything is, including lights and power sources which will come in useful once filming.
